Children are grouped by age/grade into Dens, usually about 8-10 students per Den.
Cub Scouts are boys and girls ages K-5th grade. Pack 116 is open to boys and girls, but our Cub Scouts are still mostly boys. We do our best to make sure everyone feels included, and we recommend that girls bring a friend!
Den meetings are ~1x - 2x per month, plus Pack Meetings (all-ages together!)
Cub Scouts (grades K-5) is "Parent-led" Scouting. Boy Scouts (grades 6+) is "Scout-led" Scouting. Parents are expected to assist and stay with their child at meetings.
The cost is $185 annually per scout to Scouting America. Additionally, the Pack collects $25 annually per scout. We never want finances to be a reason a child can't participate. If you need assistance, please email and we will work with you. (We mean it!)
Pack T-shirts (Class B) are the uniform of the day and is included with your dues payment! Class A uniforms (the button up shirts) are encouraged but not required. We also have some hand-me-downs available.
Non-scout siblings and families are always welcome - and encouraged - to attend Pack events.

We encourage Scouts to be activly part of our community. We participte with the National Capital Area Region with Scouting for Food. In recent years we've also helped place or clean up wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery.
Pack 116 uses Holiday Wreath Sales as our fundraiser. Last year over 100 doors were knocked on and over 150 items were sold.
